- What is WiseGuides?________________________________
-
- WiseGuides is an Expert System designed to save you time and
- increase your spreadsheet productivity by making Lotus 1-2-3
- easier to use. It's particularly helpful for spreadsheet
- users in the following situations:
-
- New users who are not familiar with spreadsheets.
- Casual users who want to take advantage of advanced
- spreadsheet functions.
- Regular users who occasionally use advanced spreadsheet
- functions.
- Power users who need help in developing spreadsheet
- applications in specialized fields.
-
- How Does WiseGuides Work? _________________________
-
- WiseGuides is a standalone program which uses a knowledge
- base of spreadsheet rules to logically guide you through
- spreadsheet functions. As you answer simple questions,
- WiseGuides automatically creates customized macros, which
- are then inserted directly into your worksheets.
-
- WiseGuides easy to follow format and unique utilization of
- expert system technology replaces the need for self-help
- books and other how-to spreadsheet tools.
-
- What are the System Requirements?____________________
-
- The system requires at least 450K of "free" RAM as a minimum
- and DOS 2.0 or above (we recommend DOS 3.3 and above for
- best results). WiseGuides 1.0 is compatible with Lotus 1-2-3
- DOS versions 2.xx. The program has NOT been tested for
- network compatibility.
-
- How Do I Get Support?______________________________
-
- WiseGuides provides 30 days of free support starting the day
- the product arrives. Service is provided by phone and fax.
- Phone service is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 -
- 5:00 EST. The support number is 1-407-391-2059. A 24 hour
- message service is available.

-
-
- Quick Start
-
-
- A powerful feature of WiseGuides is its ability to express
- ideas in depth. This is sometimes referred to as Hypertext.
-
- The ideas appear either in reverse video or are highlighted
- by the black and yellow menu select button. When you select
- one of these keywords a window will appear which contains
- descriptive text to emplasize or explain the important concepts.
-
- You can try this feature by using the F3 key to place the
- cursor on the highlighted word you want to select. When the cursor
- is on the word you want, press the F4 key.
-
- When the new window appears on the screen there may once
- again be words which are important. The new message can also include
- highlighted words and so on until the thread of the message becomes
- exhausted. This allows you to review a great deal of information which
- is tucked away unless you have a need to see it.
-
- Whenever you're unsure of what to do, first check the
- message area at the bottom of the screen and then F1 for help.
-
- It is possible to miss valuable information if you do not
- examine the hypertext, or follow the threaded text.
- Remember that anytime you see concepts in inverse video or
- under the black and yellow menu bar, it means there is
- other information about that concept available.
-
-
- Knowledge Base Menu
-
- The Knowledge Base Menu acts as a hub for executing
- specialized expert system functions. This menu also acts as
- a link between the WiseGuide Program and Lotus 1-2-3. To
- access this menu simply hit the F10 key within any of the
- WiseGuide menus. The following graph illustrates the
- function of the Knowledge Base Menu:
